
Taryn Brown
Taryn Brown is highly skilled on the basketball court and a distinguished former Captain of the University of Texas’ women’s basketball team.
After earning her degree, she spent a year in Japan, working as a boys’ basketball coach and model before returning to Manhattan, where she took on roles as a college basketball coach and political fundraiser.
Taryn pursued her legal studies at Tulane University School of Law, excelling as a member of Tulane’s Sports Law Advisory Board and serving as Editor in Chief of the Tulane Sports Law Journal. She currently holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Tulane Law School and is a board member of Tulane Sports Law and Entertainment.
In July 2024, Taryn became the Chief Legal Officer for Delta Utilities. Before this role, she practiced as a Mergers & Acquisitions attorney at Baker McKenzie in New York, advising clients on complex cross-border M&A transactions and corporate growth strategies. Her experience also includes serving as Vice President at Legends, a global premium live events and entertainment company, where she spearheaded strategy, business negotiations, and the implementation of large-scale projects. Earlier in her career, she worked as an M&A attorney at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field LLP in New York.
Taryn is deeply committed to the New Orleans community, offering pro bono legal services through the Promise of Justice Initiative. Additionally, she is a Founding Member of the Nieux Society and served on the Board of the Ballet Resource and Volunteer Organization.
Taryn is a proud and adoring mother to five-year-old Elliette.
