Sylvia Vellino

Sylvia Vellino

A passionate advocate for her adopted city, Sylvia made her mark as a member of the inaugural Tulane Law School class that emerged in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Following her graduation, she relocated to New York, where she joined Centerbridge Partners, an investment firm. Over the years, she climbed the corporate ladder to become Associate General Counsel and Managing Director. However, the allure of New Orleans called her back, and she, along with her husband Josh and their family, returned with the heartfelt desire to be “buried above ground.”

In addition to her legal career, Sylvia is an entrepreneur who recently launched her own limoncello brand, Casa Nola. Committed to giving back to the community, she has held leadership roles at BRAVO, serves as a NOLA City Ambassador, and is a board member of Celebrate Canal, an organization focused on revitalizing Canal Street. Sylvia is also an active member of the Krewe Legion of Mars, a parade dedicated to meaningful causes.

While she thrives in all her endeavors, her greatest joy comes from being a mother to her two wonderful children, Ella and Joey.
