For generations, Canal Street has been a place where families came together—for shopping, entertainment, and, of course, great food. Many New Orleanians still remember walking hand in hand with their parents, stopping to admire beautifully dressed storefront windows, and settling onto a stool at a lively counter for a fountain drink or milkshake.

Working alongside engaged citizens and partners across the city, the Coalition is committed to bringing that spirit back in a fresh, contemporary way—reestablishing Canal Street as a welcoming destination for families, a vibrant setting for date nights, and a place where friends can gather and enjoy the best of New Orleans together.
